About

I’ve worked on internet and technology projects for more than 20 years. That covers websites, software, infrastructure, automation, and a respectable number of systems held together by one configuration file nobody wanted to touch.

I was born in Kazakhstan, raised in Canada, and live in Toronto. The work has rarely stayed in one place. Geography became optional sometime after dial-up stopped screaming at us.

Most days I design, build, or repair useful software. I like clear requirements, boring reliability, and tools that solve the problem they were bought to solve. I also work with AI, but only when it has an actual job. Ordinary software remains surprisingly effective.

I’m good at translating between the technical problem and the human one. They are often different problems. Billing departments have built entire careers on this discovery.
